Job Title: Damp & Timber Surveyor
Status: Permanent, Full-Time, Self-Employed
Location: Based in or around London, with travel to local areas of the Home Counties.
Company client is working on behalf of our client who are currently looking to recruit a Damp & Timber Surveyor on a permanent basis in London to start working from as soon as possible.
The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting site visits to domestic properties, diagnosing damp and timber issues, and recommending appropriate remedial treatments. You will work independently and have the flexibility of self-employment, with support and training provided.
Salary :
* Expected annual income: Circa £46,000
* Commission at 7.5% of any job completed
* Payment on commission weekly, upon completion of works.
* £0.40 per mile for travel expenses, plus parking fees (not fines) and Congestion Zone fees, if applicable.
Qualifications & Education:
GCSEs (or equivalent) required.
Preferred qualifications:
* Certificated Surveyor for Remedial Treatment (CSRT)
* Certificated Surveyor in Structural Waterproofing (CSSW)
* Certificated Surveyor of Timber & Dampness in Buildings (CSTDB)
* Certificated Surveyor of Dampness in Buildings (CSDB)
* Damp Proofing Surveyor equivalent
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct site visits to assess damp and timber issues in domestic properties.
* Produce basic floor plans and site notes with treatment recommendations.
* Prescribe treatments for structural damp and condensation issues.
* Communicate findings and recommendations to clients.
* Maintain accurate records of visits, costs, and expenses.
* Use basic computer skills for documentation and communication.
Training and Support:
* In-house training provided to ensure a smooth transition into the role.
* Training on digital drawing packages, along with an initial shadowing period during site visits. #LI-PB1
