Dispatch Operative – Chippenham

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Dispatch Operative to join our well-established client based in Chippenham on a full-time, temporary basis.

This position is ideal for applicants who have worked in a previous position as a Picker Packer, Order Picker or Warehouse Assistant.

Company transport can be provided from Swindon or Chippenham at a subsidised rate.

Shifts:

• Working 4 on 4 off shifts
• Start time: 06:00 - 18:00

Day-to-Day Duties:

As a Dispatch Operative , your duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Ensuring correct procedures for picking and loading are followed, assisting with picking and loading when required
• Counting finished goods stock at the start or end of each shift
• Accurately completing load sheets and computer spreadsheets
• Loading vehicles and completing documentation for completed loads
• Working as a multi-functional team member to support the Team Manager and colleagues
• Ensuring high standards of GMP are adhered to at all times
• Supporting the implementation and maintenance of the BRC Global Standard for Food
• Keeping the working area clean and tidy to maintain hygiene and health and safety standards
• Willingness to undertake Food Safety qualifications during the probationary period

Essential Skills:

To be successful as a Dispatch Operative , you will need:

• Proven experience in a warehouse environment, with prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred
• Proficient in using warehouse management systems for inventory tracking and reporting
• Strong mechanical knowledge related to warehouse equipment operation and maintenance
• Experience in construction or related fields is advantageous
• Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks (up to 25kg) safely and effectively
• Familiarity with shipping and receiving procedures

Desirable Experience:

• Previous experience in a similar dispatch or warehouse role

Training:

• Full training provided
• Ongoing development support
