Hours: Monday–Thursday 8:00am–5:00pm | Friday 8:00am–4:00pm

Contract: Temporary, with potential for ongoing work

We are currently recruiting for an Accounts Assistant to join an established construction company on a temporary basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with previous Accounts Payable experience who is looking to join a busy finance team and secure the potential for ongoing work.

Working as part of the accounts team, you will support the day-to-day financial administration of the business, with a particular focus on Accounts Payable .

Key responsibilities will include:

• Processing supplier invoices accurately and efficiently
• Matching invoices to purchase orders and delivery documentation
• Checking and resolving invoice discrepancies
• Preparing and processing supplier payments
• Assisting with supplier statement reconciliations
• Responding to supplier queries
• Maintaining accurate financial records
• Supporting the wider accounts team with general finance administration
• Ensuring invoices and payments are processed within agreed timescales

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant or Accounts Payable role
• Good understanding of the purchase ledger/accounts payable process
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good organisational and time-management skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel
• Experience within the construction sector would be advantageous but is not essential
• A proactive and reliable approach to work
