Responsibilities
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Remote Operating Centre as a Process Control Engineer, in which you will work as part of an excellent team responsible for the safe and efficient operation and monitoring of our plants on a 24-hour basis using state of the art technology
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the secure and reliable network and computer infrastructure for the ROC
You will be responsible for automating the collection and reporting of the alarm statistics for all our remote operations centre controlled plants
As part of that, you will review and evaluate nuisance alarms and oversee the Engineering Management of Change (EMOC) process to reduce alarm count and improve operator interactions
In addition, you will support the implementation of process control changes across various Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Human-machine interface (HMI) types whilst making automatic control systems adjustments where required
This role gives you the opportunity to make a real difference to our remote operations centre, as you get involved in projects to support the development and implementation of productivity improvements
Experience
You have a digital mindset with a good level of IT skills and are familiar with Microsoft Windows operating system, PC configuration, virtualisation, and networking
In addition, you have previous experience in a control room operation using SCADA control systems
You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach and the ability to influence others
You have working experience of process controls, operations, commissioning, and projects as well as specific experience in process design, optimisation, automation and/or control loops and systems
Furthermore, you have an understanding and experience of PLC programming and/or Advanced Controls
And lastly, you have experience in working across projects using an analytical mindset and passion to solve problems and drive improvements
