Tony Alan Recruitment currently has an exciting job opportunity for a Credit Controller to join a leading professional services organisation. This is a varied B2B credit control and debt recovery role, managing your own portfolio of business accounts across sectors including utilities, construction and corporate lending.

Your duties will include:

• Managing your own portfolio of business accounts.
• Chasing overdue payments by phone and email.
• Negotiating payment plans and settlements.
• Reviewing company accounts to assess the likelihood of recovering outstanding debts.
• Using internal systems to assess financial risk and monitor customer accounts.
• Identifying when debts should be escalated, including legal action or insolvency processes where appropriate.
• Producing reports and providing clients with regular updates on recovery progress.
• Delivering a high level of customer service while building strong client relationships.

Key requirements:

• Previous experience in B2B credit control or commercial debt collection.
• Confidence speaking with finance teams, business owners and other decision-makers.
• Strong negotiation, communication and relationship-building skills.
• The ability to manage a busy workload and prioritise multiple accounts.
• Good attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Knowledge of insolvency or commercial debt recovery would be advantageous but isn’t essential.
