We are seeking an experienced Structured Cabling Engineer to join our growing team in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated engineer with strong technical expertise in data cabling installations, testing, and network infrastructure projects across commercial and industrial environments.
You will be responsible for delivering high-quality structured cabling installations while maintaining industry standards and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to specification.
Installation, termination, and testing of:
Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a copper cabling
Fibre optic cabling (single-mode & multi-mode)
Installation of containment systems (tray, basket, trunking, conduit)
Cabinet building, patch panel termination & labelling
Fault finding and network troubleshooting
Fluke testing and certification
Reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics
Working on commercial, office, retail, education, and industrial sites
Maintaining high health & safety standards on site
Minimum 2+ years’ experience in structured cabling
Strong knowledge of copper and fibre installations
Experience using Fluke test equipment
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
ECS/CSCS Card
Full UK Driving Licence
Good communication skills and professional manner
IPAF / PASMA certification
Experience in data centre environments
SSSTS (for senior-level candidates)
Manufacturer certifications (e.g., Excel, Panduit, Commscope)
