Streetmason Improver / Skilled Streetmason

Grade 4 / Grade 5 (dependent on experience)

City Highways are currently looking to appoint a Streetmason Improver (Grade 4) or Skilled Streetmason (Grade 5) , depending on experience, to support essential highway maintenance and development works across Leicester.

About the role

This is a hands-on position supporting the delivery of day-to-day highway repairs and improvement projects. You will play an important role in maintaining safe and high-quality public highways and footpaths across the city.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out a range of highway maintenance and repair works
• Install, repair and maintain paving, kerbs, and slabs
• Assist with highway development and improvement schemes
• Ensure work is completed safely and in line with health & safety standards
• Use tools and equipment associated with street masonry
• Work collaboratively to meet operational targets

Requirements

• Experience in street masonry, paving, kerbing, or groundwork
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Good understanding of health & safety practices
• Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team
• Full driving licence (desirable)

Candidates with solid experience will be considered for the Skilled (Grade 5) role, while those developing their skills will be appointed at Improver (Grade 4).
