Accounts Semi-Senior

Salary: £27,000–£33,000

Role Description

I’m working with a growing independent accountancy practice in Basildon that is looking to appoint an Accounts Semi-Senior.

You’ll join a friendly and supportive team, working with a varied portfolio of sole traders, partnerships and limited companies across sectors including construction, retail, consultancy and manufacturing.

Reporting to a Client Manager, you’ll prepare accounts and tax returns, support clients with their VAT and MTD requirements, and gradually take on more direct client contact. There is no audit work involved.

What you’ll do

• Prepare accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
• Complete VAT returns and corporation tax computations
• Prepare personal tax returns
• Support clients with MTD requirements
• Respond to day-to-day client queries
• Maintain and develop client relationships
• Support junior members of the team where required
• Report directly to a Client Manager

What you’ll need

• AAT qualified or currently studying towards Level 4
• At least two years’ experience within an accountancy practice
• Experience preparing accounts and tax returns
• Good communication and organisational skills
• An interest in developing your client-facing responsibilities
