Commercial Manager – Industrial Roofing and Cladding (Interim)

Castlefield Recruitment are currently recruiting a Commercial Manager for a leading industrial roofing and cladding company. This is an interim role for an initial 6-12 months, offering a day rate of £300-£400, with the potential for extension or transition to a permanent role. This is a hybrid role , requiring occasional office attendance in Barnsley and national travel to project sites.

The Role:

The Commercial Manager will play a pivotal role in managing the company’s operations, combining expertise in quantity surveying with leadership in business development and project management. Key responsibilities include:

• Overseeing full project management of industrial roofing and cladding jobs, from inception to completion.
• Leading on winning new business, including preparing tenders and building relationships with clients.
• Managing all commercial aspects of projects, ensuring cost control, profitability, and compliance with industry standards.
• Acting as the key point of contact for clients, suppliers, and subcontractors, negotiating agreements to optimize value and quality.
• Implementing effective project monitoring, risk management, and delivery frameworks.
• Preparing commercial reports, financial summaries, and performance reviews for senior leadership.

What You Need:

• Chartered Quantity Surveyor (MRICS) with a proven track record in a hands-on quantity surveying role.
• Strong background in the construction industry, ideally with experience in industrial roofing or cladding.
• Excellent business acumen, with the ability to develop client relationships and win new business opportunities.
• Comprehensive knowledge of project management, including JCT and NEC contracts.
• Highly organized, with the ability to oversee multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively.
