£46,000 - £50,000 per annum DOE plus company car, bonus, and excellent benefits
This is a home-based role however there is the requirement to travel regularly to various sites throughout our UK network.
We currently have an opportunity for an Engineering Design Manager to join our team on a full time, permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity where you will have a large degree of autonomy, working closely with the Head of UK Engineering, Design & Environment, as we implement a variety of engineering projects aligned to the growth and transformation of our depot network.
You will be responsible for supporting Brakes and Fresh Direct businesses’ growth and project agendas with the innovation, development and construction of new or re-configured buildings through the provision of engineering design, systems expertise and design authority. You’ll be responsible for identifying and implementing new technology platforms to support sites’ ability to deliver continuous improvement and develop the supply chain. Using standardised Project Management and procurement methodologies, you’ll ensure the delivery of the build plan - working alongside the Regional Engineering Managers to ensure key metrics including delivery to time, cost and quality are achieved. You will be instrumental in the design and delivery of facilities management assets – ensuring that they meet the business requirements from a colleague, legal and reliability perspective. Working closely with key stakeholders across the business including senior leaders at a UK and site-specific level, your collaboration and communication skills will be key in enabling the preparation, approval and execution of capital projects following PM processes.

You will have a significant level of relevant experience including experience within an FMCG or industrial environment and of working on projects from concept to delivery. You’ll be proficient in AutoCAD and have a good level of understanding of Health and Safety, Fire Strategy and Building Regulations in construction. You will hold a relevant qualification (To HND or Degree level or equivalent) and be highly motivated by the challenge of continuous improvement and value engineering for project delivery. You’ll be keen to learn and understand the operation and understand the criticality of engineering as a key support to the success of the business
